Welcome to the Melbourne University Rifle Club's official website. The purpose of this website is to keep current members informed of what is happening around the club, and to also help educate new comers to the world of target rifle shooting. To help all of you out there who want to know more about target rifle shooting, the best place to start is the FAQ which will hopefully answer most of your questions. Alternatively you may wish to visit each of the three disciplines' pages for more indepth information and training times. |

I hope we will see you all next week and keep practising. ITEM 2: due to Semester 1 exams, rifle club may take a couple of weeks of recess as more students won't be able to come anyway. The date have not been finalised as yet, but the recess will most likely to be from mid or late May to late June. ITEM 3: Remember to tell your friends about how fun it was to do target shooting.
NEWS ITEM 1: Shooting sessions on Mondays 7:30pm to 10:00pm, Air rifle and Small bore at Northcote Rifle Range, for directions please see map on smallbore NEWS ITEM 2: Club Email address have changed to MURifleClub@gmail.com
Smallbore pennant is finished, and Air Rifle pennant will be finished as off the end of this week as well, our club is coming 5th in Smallbore and 4th in Air Rifle. The individual shooters who participated in 04 pennant found it a rewarding experience and hopefully come on top of their respective grades. In Smallbore, we have one, possibily two of our shooters in the top 10. At the moment, Paul Thia is currently coming 4th in our section, and Jack Qiu is 9th. Our Junior shooters are doing very well for this being their first pennant and TRV should be sending them each a small item for participation. In Air Rifle, we have three of our shooters in the top 10 in Grade D. They are Jack, Paul, and David. Once again, the team is going extremely well against very reputable opponents such as MISC.
Smallbore and Air Rifle pennant are both underway for 2004. Shooting is going well with good scores being shot by the old hands of the team, while the newbies are showing the benefits of the preseason practice. No results have arrived as of yet... that reminds me, I'll have to add a results page one season... Just a reminder to all, we are shooting at Northcote on Mondays and Wednesdays. Visitors are still most welcome during competition time.
We would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the fact that a new Magna has been brought into our ranks, now making it a total of three. On his recent visit to Melbourne, ex-President Henderson purchased himself an ex-cop Black AWD TJ Magna Sports. With all the extra holes drilled into the bodywork it should be running a little faster now =) |
